Training and Examinations for EASA Part-66 Basic License
Option 1: EASA Part 147 Full Basic Course for B1.1 or B2 License.
Olympic Air Maintenance Training Organization provides a Part-147 approved Full Basic Training Course for the acquisition of a B1.1 or B2 Part-66 license. The Full Basic Course has a duration of 2400 hours (approximately two years and includesTheoretical and Practical elements). The course syllabus is approved by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in accordance with EASA requirements. By successfully completing the 2400 hour Theoretical and Practical Training and the associated module examinations, the candidate meets EASA knowledge requirements to apply for a Part-66 B1.1 or B2 license. The Full Basic Course includes mandatory daily classes attendance, training material and examinations for all applicable modules. Theoretical classes are performed mainly at Paiania facilities and a successful attendance of each module is followed by the appropriate examination. The practical element is performed at the workshops located at Paiania and Airport facilities (workshops and aircraft hangar) on actual aircraft components, systems and engines as well as at operating aircraft undergoing maintenance at Aegean Technics approved maintenance organization. In accordance with EASA requirements, a candidate that has completed Part-147 Full Basic Course is required to obtain two years of maintenance experience in the form of On The Job Training in an approved Maintenance Organization in order to apply for a Part-66 B1 or B2 License.
Option 2: Successfully participating in Part-147 approved Examinations only
In accordance with EASA requirements, it is possible for a candidate to meet EASA Knowledge Requirements for applying for a Part-66 License by participating in approved Part-147 examinations only, without attending a Full Basic Course. Olympic Air MTO provides approved examinations for all B1.1 and B2 modules in three examination periods per year. Olympic Air MTO students and private individuals can participate in the examinations.*
Option 3: Self Study Support Program (available from 15.01.2025)
Olympic Air MTO provides a support program called Self Study Support Program (SSSP) which is targeted to those individuals that are not able to participate in the 2400-hour Full Basic Course. With the SSSP program Olympic Air provides to the candidate all the applicable training material which the candidate can study at his own pace and in accordance with his needs. Olympic Air MTO instructors will support the candidate by answering questions and giving clarifications, either with the physical presence of the candidate at the school or online. The SSSP program also includes the necessary module examinations. The candidate can select to participate to any of the examinations during the two-year duration of the program.*
*In accordance with EASA requirements, a candidate that has successfully completed approved Part-147 examinations only (options 2 and 3 above), is required to obtain three or five years of maintenance experience in the form of On The Job Training, in an approved maintenance organization, in order to apply for a Part-66 B1 or B2 License (based on the candidates technical background).
For all MTO students (both Full Course and SSSP), Olympic Air can provide On The Job Training, in cooperation with Aegean Technics Maintenance Organization, for the acquisition of maintenance experience necessary to apply for a Part-66 license (depending on availability).
